Research and the Third Mission
The Foundation intends to support research projects in areas of greatest impact and social importance, promoted by the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, including in partnership with other university institutions or research centres.
With regard to the big key areas – climate change, environmental sustainability, justice and social inclusion, new procedures for international relations, health and connected technologies and scientific innovations, big data and their impact on economic systems – the Foundation aims to aggregate public and private resources to enable young researchers to operate within a stimulating context, which is both international and qualified.
The Foundation also supports “third mission” projects, alongside ventures in the field of training and research. By way of Third Mission ventures the Foundation intends to consolidate the ability of Universities to disseminate knowledge and skills acquired through their research and the transfer of results, for the purpose of triggering important processes for change within society and institutions, through the informed and active education of citizens; within companies and on the job market, through technology transfer and innovation and development models; within the world of government authorities, to improve their ability to oversee the common interest.
How you can support us
Participants, supporters and donators can choose to support research on matters with the greatest social impact amongst those present at the School, directly proposing projects or contributing to fund projects that are already supported by the Foundation. In this way it will be possible to extend the horizon of research conducted and researchers committed to frontier research which will, over the next few years, make a difference in the life of our communities.
