Seasonal Schools
Through the experience of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies the Foundation intends to act as a facilitator and coordinator for the creation of a network of talent for involving students of talent from all Italian Universities (visiting students) interested in expanding their university training by way of supplementary and highly-specialised programmes focusing on qualifying areas of research for the School and its Institutes. The aim is that of attracting the best talents nationally, in a collaborative relationship with their Universities of origin.
Seasonal Schools offer a one-week intensive programme and will be open to students enrolled in three-year degree courses, Master Degree Courses, and PhD programmes who have the same characteristics as students of the School (for example an average grade of at least 27/30 and at the same stage of their education programme). Teaching activities will preferentially be carried out in English, and the residential aspect of the courses will be fundamental so as to ensure that students of talent throughout Italy are in contact with the Sant’Anna “training ground”, where teaching staff and researchers commit to training young people in areas at the frontier of knowledge, using a rigorous approach in terms of method and in-depth study, so as to develop their skills and construct expertise and the ability to plan in an interdisciplinary context.
In order to participate in the training programmes a participation fee is required, inclusive of the cost of board and lodging in Pisa; there is a reduction based on a student’s ISEE (Equivalent economic situation indicator). Following the training programme, and having passed specific tests, University credits will be awarded and a participation certificate will be issued.
Ever since the first edition (the academic year 2020/2021) the Foundation has been assigning Merit Awards to the students who receive the best assessment at the end of the educational path.
