Merit and social mobility

Me.Mo. – Merit and Social Mobility – is the strategic project of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, which consists of an individual orientation and mentoring programme aimed at specifically selected students enrolled in the fourth year of upper secondary schools across Italy, whom to offer accompaniment and support in the delicate phase of university choice.

The Me.Mo. initiative features meetings at the regional level, group work and remote activities, alongside the mentoring activity of the School’s team of students.

The programme is free of charge, lasts one year and includes a residential internship in Pisa at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies.

The Foundation Il Talento all’Opera, thanks to Intesa Sanpaolo bank’s contribution within the framework of the Talento Plus Project, contributed to the School Year 2021/2022 edition, allowing the number of participants to soar from 250 to 360.

In the following school years too the number of students selected to follow the guidance and accompaniment programme for choosing which university to attend shall be 360.

Since the School Year 2022/2023 the Foundation, as part of the annual plan, supports the project with its own funds.

Since the School Year 2024/2025 the number of participants has increased from 360 to 610 thanks to the collaboration between some of the most prestigious Italian academic institutions gathered in the MERITA network, financed with funds from the PNRR.

Furthermore, from 2025, thanks to a three-year agreement, the Foundation Il Talento all’Opera Foundation can count on the contribution of the Laviosa Foundation specifically intended for the Me.Mo project.
